WHAT TO DO IF YOUR CHILD IS MISSING

WHAT TO DO IF YOUR CHILD IS MISSING

TIME is critical – ACT NOW! You DO NOT have to wait 24 hours to report a missing child. Call 911 and Activate Amber Alert. Give authorities a copy of the child’s I.D. card and alert friends, neighbors and relatives. The more people looking, the better…quickly. Check all known places and child’s traffic patterns. Ask police for the proper organizations to contact to help you in your search. Provide media with all relevant info (physical description, approximate time and location) and urge immediate action. Post someone on the primary phone. Keep a line open at all times. Stress the 14-48 hour life expectancy of the criminally abducted. Be prepared to give: a recent digital and hard copy photo, physical description, description of clothing worn when last seen. Post on Facebook, Twitter, and ask friends to re-broadcast. Delegate tasks to friends. Go door to door. There is nearly always someone who has seen something. Notify the media: TV – assignment editor/producer, radio stations – station managers, newspaper – city desk editor. Hire an expert/Private Detective. Never give up.
